ANNOUNCEMENTS & INFO FOR OWC STAFF

All OWC Staff Training Day 2022

A reminder to everyone that we are having an all-staff training day on August 30, 2022. We will be closed in all locations that day so everyone can come together. The day starts sharply at 8:30am and will end promptly at 4:30pm.  We have a lot of in-services to go over and we will need everyone on time and ready to soak up some great information.

We have revamped some of our trainings and added some new ones as well. We will provide staff with coffee and morning snacks.  We will be having a POTLUCK lunch; Larry has the list up front at his desk for you to sign-up with your contribution. Maybe you could pick your favorite dish or family recipe to share, it is always fun trying others favorite foods. You can always buy something to share too, Larry will help you with the needs for the day.

Larry will be handing out a packet of handouts to read and sign prior to the meeting. These MUST come in with you the day of training or you will need to stay after 4:30pm to complete them. He will give you the instructions on those at that time. I am certain that everyone will cooperate with the training and enjoy their day.

Please remember that trainings are a requirement of your job, and it is a requirement for OWC to have proof of these trainings for the state that we are working under their contract guidelines. This is how we receive our payment for all of the hard work that you guys do every day! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your direct supervisor. I look forward to seeing you all on the 30th.


OWC STAFF E-MAILS

As of April 2020, OWC has assigned Microsoft e-mails to all staff members. If you have not received an e-mail, or have questions please contact your program managers immediately. All important updates, work memos, and messages from your managers will be sent to your OWC e-mail now.

Vertikal 6

Vertikal 6 is OWC’s tech support. During the pandemic Vertikal 6 has offered to assist any OWC employees who are struggling with getting their technology to work at home. For help with any OWC Microsoft 360 e-mail accounts, Zoom troubleshooting, or questions about mobile options please call Vertikal 6 at 401-825-4401.

 


Weather Closing Online Programming: Information for our Staff!

  • The information below is for your reference so please keep it at home if you are called to assist.

     

  • We will be providing virtual programming during snow days to keep programing continuity on days we close for snow or other circumstances.

     

  • If OWC is closed because of snow, ZOOM presentations will be offered to ALL participants beginning at 8:30am for both GSE and DSO/VOC programs. (Login information for each program detailed below)

     

  • Staff will be identified by their manager if they will be utilized for any of the virtual programming.  If staff have issues connecting to ZOOM/WiFi while in their residence, please make your manager aware and you will be exempt from participation.

     

  • Please note our Policy 9.7 Inclement Weather Policy will remain the same regarding closings, and staffs’ pay.

     

  • All required documentation for activities during snow days must be completed the next business day as it is done for your program.
